NARBC, Inc Specialty Show

Mid America Angora Club is very honored to host the National Angora Rabbit Breeders Club, Inc Specialty Show on April 5th, 2008 in Sedalia, Missouri. The show will be held at the Rabbit Building on the Missouri State Fairgrounds.

You don't show rabbits? Well that isn't a problem as there will be a wool/skein/garment contest as well as a raffle. There will also be an area set up for those who want to bring their spinning wheels and just 'sit and spin'.

The show is being held in conjunction with the Midwest Trailblazers Rabbit Club so you should see all of the various breeds recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association.

As many of you know I schedule my breedings according to the signs of the Zodiac taught to me by my father. While some of you may not be believers, when I first started breeding angoras I thought I was going to have to change my rabbitry name to Bucks r Us. After talking with my father he explained to me I was breeding in the wrong signs. He taught me about the breeding signs, not only regarding the higher percentage for bucks or does but also those that influenced the quality of the animal. Thus, I have been breeding by the signs ever since. For those interested, here are the dates for 2008!

MAAC to Host the National Angora Specialty Show in 2008

The Mid America Angora Club (MAAC) has been granted their bid for the National Angora Specialty Show to be held in Sedalia, MO on April 5th and 6th.

Angora breeders will be able to show their angoras four (4) times that weekend. On Saturday the National Angora Rabbit Breeders Club, Inc. (NARBC) show will be held as well as an open show by Midwest Trailblazers. The Mid America Angora Club will host a specialty show on Sunday in conjunction with the Midwest Trailblazers show.

The wool/skein/garment contest will be held on Saturday and is open to EVERYONE! You do not need to be a member of MAAC or NARBC to enter your angoras or the wool/skein/garment contest.

Mid America Angora Club held is annual double specialty show in Sedalia, MO on March 31st and April 1st. It was great to see so many angora breeders attend this event. We were very happy to see breeders from various parts of the states: Deb Butorac and Alicia Will from MN, Linda Schulte from NE, Denise Wyrick from KS, and a new youth breeder Anna Wright. We also had a new member of our club Candice Tryon, attend. This was her first experience as showing angoras and hopefully will see her attending other shows in the future.

Mid America Angora Club will be submitting a bid for the National Angora Rabbit Breeders Club Specialty Show for April 2008...so we look forward to having even more angoras attend our event.

2006 ARBA Convention

The ARBA Convention held in Ft. Worth, TX was an experience to remember for club member Margaret Bartold. Margaret and Linda Cassella won BOB English Angora as well as Group I Winner at the convention. Carmella also went on to win Best Wool.
